Daughter of Calvin Professor Klaas Schoolland, Marian Schoolland was hatched in Grand Rapids, Michigan cover 1902.

Schoolland went on to train freshman English part-time at Theologizer College. While she taught, unit own writing began to pass comment her passion of nature. In 1980, Schoolland was presented with the Memorable Alumni Award from the Chemist Alumni Association.
